Your visit: keeping you safe

In line with government guidelines, please wear a suitable face covering when you visit the Leatherhead Theatre.

Please be aware that from 14 September the maximum number of people you can visit the venue with is six.

When seated in the auditorium you will be socially distanced from other guests, and you may remove your face covering to enjoy food and drinks.


Keeping our customers and staff safe and well is our top priority, so we kindly ask you to please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our new safety procedures.

Inside the venue

  • A one-way system is in place throughout the building to meet social distancing requirements

  • Face covering must be warn inside the venue at all times unless you are seated on the mezz or in the auditorium and only whilst you are eating and drinking.

  • Children under the age of 15 must always be accompanied by an adult

  • In line with government guidelines, you are only able to visit the venue with people from one other household. In the cinema you will be seated 1m+ apart from other groups

  • We will be taking temperature checks at the main door using a contactless thermometer. We may refuse entry if you provide a temperature reading of 38C or higher, or refuse to have your temperature taken

  • At Box Office and/or the Coffee shop,  you will be required by law to either scan the Offical NHS track and trace qr code or provide contact details.If you refuse to do one or the other you will be asked and esscorted of the premises.

  • We have added hand sanitiser stations that we ask all customers to use when entering and leaving the building


  • We advise you book online ahead of your visit for best availability and to minimise contact

  • You will still be able to purchase tickets via the phone or in person. Where possible, please use contactless or card payments, but we will accept cash if absolutely necessary

  • Once on-site, your ticket will be checked visually



  • We have reduced our capacity in line with government guidelines. Seating areas are spaced with at least 1m+ distance from other seats

  • All seats will be allocated before customers enter the auditorium


Keeping you safe

  • The theatre has been deep cleaned ahead of reopening and on top of our current high cleaning standards, additional regular cleaning will take place covering all touchpoints throughout the venue.

  • Toilets will only be for customers using the cinema and will be cleaned regularly

  • To enable social distancing in the toilets, there will be fewer cubicles and basins available. A maximum of three customers at a time are permitted


Physical distancing

  • We have added Perspex screens at our box office and coffee shop to keep distance between customers and staff

  • Seating in the foyer and cafe is currently unavailable, but you will be able to take your seat 30 minutes before each screening 

Team safety

  • All staff are receiving ongoing comprehensive COVID-19 training

  • PPE will also be provided for our staff.

  • We kindly ask you to be patient with our staff as we introduce our new policies. It may take a little longer to enter the cinema or buy refreshments and we thank you in advance for your understanding
